Delete Your Laybell Account
Laybell — published by Laybell LLC · Last Updated: August 3, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Laybell account, what data is removed, what is kept, and for how long. You can delete your account yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you.
Option 1 — Delete your account in the app
- Open Laybell and sign in.
- Go to your Profile tab.
- Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
The same option is available under Settings → Privacy Center → Delete account.
Prefer to step away without deleting? Settings → Hide profile makes your account invisible to other users while keeping it recoverable. That is not a deletion, and your data is retained.
Option 2 — Ask us to delete it
If you cannot access your account, email privacy@laybell.app from the email address on the account, with the subject “Account deletion request”, and include your Laybell username.
We may need to confirm you control the account before deleting it — this protects you from someone else deleting your account. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days.
What is deleted, and what is kept
When your account is deleted, the following is deleted or de-identified within approximately 30 days:
- Your account identifiers and profile (username, display name, bio, avatar, links, gender and age)
- Your posts, songs, videos, stories, slideshows and captions
- Your comments, likes, saves and playlists
- Your direct messages and group-chat messages
- Your follows, followers and blocks
- Your approximate location record and any retained contact-match results
- Your shop listings and any undelivered orders
Kept after deletion, and why
| Data | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction and purchase records | As required by law (typically up to 7 years) | Tax, accounting and financial-audit obligations. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, who keep their own records. |
| IP address records | 13 months from collection | Security, fraud prevention and abuse investigation. |
| Crash and diagnostic reports | At most 90 days | Stability monitoring. These can be switched off at any time in Settings → Privacy Center → Crash reports. |
| Moderation and safety records | As long as needed | Enforcing our repeat-infringer policy and preventing banned users from returning. |
| Content others re-shared or reused | Indefinitely, in their copy | If another user re-shared your post, or attached your song to their own post with “use this song”, their copy belongs to their account and remains. |
| Data under legal hold | Until the matter closes | Where a record relates to an open investigation or a legal obligation. |
Cached copies may persist briefly after deletion in content-delivery networks before they expire.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove things:
- Individual content — delete any post, song, comment or message from its own menu in the app.
- Download your data — Settings → Privacy Center → Download my data.
- Personalized ads — turn off in Settings → Privacy Center. It is off by default.
- Crash reports — turn off in Settings → Privacy Center.
- Contacts and location — revoke in Settings → Permissions; retained matches are deleted within approximately 30 days.
